Road traffic injuries: psychological and social aspects

Introduction . Despite the positive trend in recent years, incidence of road traffic injuries and deaths from it remains high, significantly higher than developed countries. The economic significance problem is determined by high level disability among victims, fact that a significant part them are people working age. following factors contribute to occurrence certain outcomes accidents: (behavior, health, psychological state users); vehicle condition; environment (road infrastructure); organization medical care for victims (including possibility readiness participants witnesses accidents provide first aid). objective was analyze driving culture drivers aid based on results self-assessment. Methods materials main research method sociological survey, which conducted basis Google Forms survey administration program. population St. Petersburg Leningrad region. questionnaire study included 29 questions. All questionnaires were encrypted processed using Excel Statistica 10 statistical applications. Results Assessing their knowledge rules road, most respondents considered as average (45.3 %) above (34.0 %). Only 7.5 % high. Every third (34.2 respondent participant an accident 4.9 – with victims). 45.3 assessed average; 39.6 rather low; only 5.7 majority (83.0 always used seat belts. Among children, 11.8 did not have special child restraints. 10.4 kit car. low. 26.9 confidently answered they could victims. Conclusions preventing reducing mortality can be solved systematic approach, including optimization organization, improvement infrastructure, condition vehicles, etc. However, central place should given cultivating all users, comply rules, providing aid.
